Here at the PA Community and Wellbeing Centre, there are always a number of different workshops available for anyone who wants to develop aspects of their spiritual practice or even work towards a life goal such as reading Tarot professionally or becoming a Reiki practitioner. However, just in case some of you might find the idea a little intimidating, I thought I’d tell you a bit more about what you can expect. As I host workshops on crystals, chakras and visualisation, as well as attending them. I can give you the perspective from both sides, and if you teach spiritual practices to the general public in an informal way, maybe you’d like to come and talk to us about hosting a workshop of your own in the future.
As a workshop facilitator, the Centre is very supportive of your needs, and we will promote your event on our social media to enable you to extend your client base. My own crystal workshops are usually full day affairs, so I’m grateful that Val who runs Café Zen is able to produce delicious lunches for up to 20 people at a very reasonable cost, which enables me to keep the charges for my workshops at affordable levels. It’s good that students, some of whom may be first time visitors to the Centre, can get to know their fellow attendees over a tea or coffee ahead of the workshop then deepen the connection over a leisurely lunch. I’ve seen many a friendship blossom during the course of a workshop and then grow into something deeper and more meaningful over time. It’s an added bonus, being able to bring like-minded souls together in our workshops.
There’s a valuable social aspect of our workshops that may not be immediately obvious, but because we’re working with energy – because all aspects of spirituality are based on the twin core components of energy and healing – connections can deepen very quickly. More than 30 students have attended the workshops I’ve delivered so far at the Centre, and while I already knew some of them, I’ve also made a number of new friends too. I stay in touch with all of them, so I can support them in their learning and in their journey. Each of our facilitators approaches teaching with a similar perspective – the connection doesn’t end when you leave the Centre, we’re always happy to hear about your progress and encourage further growth.
We’re very fortunate that most of our visiting international mediums are happy to host workshops, and just a few days ago, I was blessed to attend UK medium Darren Brittain’s mediumship workshop, along with about 20 other students. Most of the workshops we run at the Centre – unless they are advertised specifically as Intermediate or Advanced – are designed so that everyone will benefit from them, whatever their level of experience and understanding. So there’s no need to be nervous. It’s not like school, and we don’t assess or judge anyone, we simply allow you to unlock your true potential and maybe gently lower any energetic blocks or barriers that may be preventing that from developing.
In our workshops, the emphasis is on learning in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere at your own pace and in your own way. You may be surprised by some of the exercises you’re asked to participate in too, because there may not be an obvious connection to the topic in some cases. The thing is, as well as learning about mediumship development, for example, you’ll discover things about yourself that may surprise you, and at the same time, explain stuff that may have been challenging your thinking for months or even years. Exercises in self-awareness help you to form deeper connections with Spirit by breaking down barriers and allowing you to open up your soul to the infinite possibilities around you, and it all takes place in a safe space among like-minded souls who are working towards the same goals as you, under the leadership of an experienced spiritual teacher and mentor.
So why not join one of our workshops and find out how you can learn more about the spiritual areas that resonate most with you? Best of all, you’ll learn a lot about yourself at the same time. Drop into the Centre to speak to one of our team, or message us and we’ll work together to guide you to the next appropriate stage in your soul development.
Sandra Piddock.
